Apoorv-- The responses were bleak. One of them said she would give it a try. But the conviction is not there. Another said is too straight-jacketed for her. While this guy said- people say am not IAS material. Another said there is too much muck in there.
It looks bleak- i do not see a rising star in my friends circle. a rising star in the IAS horizon that is.
Suyog- i have other plans which i cannot pursue if do IAS- but the destination is the same for me--give back to society.
on the whole Apoorv, 99% said No. only one friend i asked is giving it a shot. but has so many other options lined up, that she wouldn't really give her heart and soul at this attempt.
actually simi, i was all up for IAS sometime back, latter i thought of IFS, forest service. but the positions have such limitations due to the rules, regulations and the bosses with a very different agenda alltogether and a short period to serve in any one area/interest ... thats the reason, why very few officers have made lasting changes compared to passionate nobodys ! ...
