There is no true freedom. I talked about this on a blog recently, I am not really able to recall where (well, blog alert will surely let me know soon).
Attempting to find freedom leads usally only to one thing. Feeling even more trapped.
Voluntarily trapping yourself in a certain set (for example commitment) is often liberating since one no longer has that desire to search anymore. He has found his answer and has no compulsion to go out in the wide world looking.
Of course, you probably already knew that. What can I say, as DK puts it, I am rather jabberwocky (correct DK? :) ).
